Question:

I can't make my dual mode Dish DVR to work the 2nd TV.?

I just updated my Dish Network DVR to model VIP 622

I connected a coax cable from the In Home Distribution Output from the DVR to my 2nd TV in another room, set DVR in dual mode. All I can do now is turn on my Satellite # 2 remotely. I understand I need to tune the 2nd TV to a channel (usually 60) Did that but no picture. Tried different other channels but still no luck. Process steps in manual are rather lengthy and kind of complicated. Can someone tell me a simple procedure to make this all work, or perhaps tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

  1. go to sat menu, press 6, 1, 5, change modulator to cable-ch 73, go to 2nd TV, put it on ch 73

this is as simple an answer i can do.....good luck

  2. It sounds like you have done everything right so far. The output I hope your talking about is called TV-2. Without seeing the installation first hand I can only guess what might be wrong. First try a different cable, You should be using RG-6 if possible. Another thing with the second TV is it has to be set for OFF AIR ANTENNAE not CABLE. Make sure the input on the TV is set for AIR or ANTENNAE. If it is set for cable it will not work. Other than that you may have a defective receiver. Being that you just got the receiver you should have a warranty that will cover it. Hope this helped, But like I said if I can not see it is hard to diagnose.
