I can't open my door to fix it on my 1989 buick.?

When my girlfriends friend closed the door something happened on the inside now I can't get it open to try to fix it whats one need to do.

Roll down the window.   Slide seat all the way back & remove the inside door panel & pull on the rod from the inside door latch handle.  GM makes poor quality latch handles, usually out of plastic.  We have to replace the one in our work truck every 18 months.

A slim jim will probably open it. A locksmith can do it for you as well.
