I practice parallel parking all the time, and i'm great at it. I havent hit any cars and I'm close to the curb. But I cant get it right when I take the driving test and have to park between 2 cement blocks with three flags stuck in it. what am I missing with the blocks that i'm not with actual cars?

  1. The physical presence of the cars being gone is most likely messing up your perception.     Just envision the car behind the flag,  and don't be nervous.   The testor won't bite.

  2. Try and see cars parked instead of blocks and flags don't worry and just do it and you will.

  3. Learning how to parallel park can be a tough task at first, in fact some people never bother to learn the proper technique and always struggle to park in between two cars. Living in a big city where parking is scarce, parallel parking skills are a must.

Practice with no obstacles first, then with plenty of space between vehicles. Take it slowly and you'll develop the skill and confidence to parallel park.

  4. just dont think about it too much....i tend to over think things and get it wrong, if u know it just go for it and dont get nervous...

  5. I searched for a video that shows the proper steps to parallel park. Maybe you will understand it better if you see the maneuver visually.

    Best of luck.
