  1. Have you tried having her sleep in her car seat? My baby loved it b/c she felt all nice and snuggled.  When I would lay her in the bassinet she would always wake (barely used it).  In her crib, I would hold her tight to my chest as I laid her down, and I would practically go into the crib with her and let go of her very gently and gradually...that usually worked.  Best wishes.

  2. I can sympathise with you =( My baby wakes up when I put him down too, but he doesnt have colic. Im just hanging in there, I usually just let him sleep on me and at night he sleeps beside me.

  3. My son had mild colic. He ended up sleeping in my bed snuggled up to me or my husband. It was so hard to get him to sleep that we did everything we possibly could to keep him asleep. It got better around 12 weeks.

If you don't have it already, get the book "The Happiest Baby on the Block." It's a great book for dealing with colic. Based on the suggestions in the book, we used to swing our son extremely vigorously from side to side (while supporting his head, of course), and shush him really loudly right in his ear, all while patting him very vigorously on the back. It was absolute magic for calming him down. He'd eventually fall asleep like that.

  4. if you are breast feeding it could be what you are eating. my friend changed her diet and that worked. look it up if that is the case. if not the more comfortable they get to you holding them all the time the longer it iwll take. let them try crying it out for a little bit before you pick them up again.

  5. yeah my son did the same thing for a while try rocking him for a while then when he gets drowsy try putting him in his swing he might fall asleep in it

  6. Try laying down with her when you put her to sleep that way you will not have to fool with moving her, she will already be comfortable.

  7. my colic baby slept with my husband and I in our bed for the first 4 months of her life...it worked for us!  If you don't mind sharing your bed, I would suggest giving it a try...only if you are comfortable with it though!

  8. it wil get better in due time and try laying down beside her so she can feel and smell you.

  9. Hi,

They have special things you can buy that mimic the sounds and motion of the womb. I have heard this really helps. Maybe something as simple as a baby swing might help so it makes her feel like she is being held and rocked. Then she can fall asleep in the swing. You can also lay her down to sleep, she may cry a little, but there are certain things you can do that I learned in massage therapy that soothe, balance and calm the nervous system. They are done to help babies with colic or people who can't sleep. They are too difficult for me to explain in typing but research them.

I am sorry your baby has colic, I am sure once she feels secure she will sleep more and cry less. Maybe she has gas or some other problem that is bothering her causing her to cry. Do you breast feed her? I have know babies to cry and cry if the formula they are on is not agreeing with them. And sometimes it is so hard for even doctors to tell if something like that is bothering your baby.

I am having my first and I have thought through what I will do if my baby has colic, the first step will be to rule out that it is something actually physically bothering him.

Also try giving her a warm bath with soothing aroma bath products and then buying soothing lotion to massage her with. It will surely relax her, she will probably love it!

You can also make her sleep area as comfortable as possible. Buy a humidifier, dim the lights very low, make the tempature in the room just right, maybe buy a cd that they sell for newborn babies which has sounds from the uterus that soothes them.

Anyway, goodluck, I hope you get some sleep and relaxation soon!
