I can't redeem my itunes card help??

i bought my itunes card like 3 days ago from giant. however when i got home the code didn't work. I am sure i put the right numbers and letters in. I would take it back, but I don't have my receipt. what should I do??

Would they take it back without a receipt? also I tried apple support. they also need a receipt.
