I've tried all of the products: Kaboom, Lime Away, CLR, Sno-Bowl, Bleach, everything to no avail. We have extremely hard water and a very high metals count...so high that when we tried to shock our pool water it turned black!!! The water was turning green, ends up it was high in metal content and needed 'metal-out' additive.

I want to replace the toilets in both our bathrooms but can't right now. I really need some help,....nothing is working!!!

PS The stains are very bad and are like 'baked on'!!!

  1. Muriatic acid will probably work, before you put it in the toilet, bring up the temperature of the cold water gradually by adding hot water, this will avoid cracking the toilet if the acid generates too much heat, also you will neet to ventilate the bathroom.

  2. I have the same problem and found a Lysol product that works wonders.  The label says "Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner."  Empty the bowl by pouring a bucket of water so it doesn't refill by flushing.  Squirt the product up under the rim and let it run down and then let it sit there for as long as possible (overnight if you can).

  3. A pumice stone! They work wonders. And not the kind that you use on your feet..lol You can prolly find them at wal-mart or Lowes. They are really great! Good Luck!

    p.s. The Cowboys Rock!!!

  4. Have you tried a pumice stone?  It does work wonders. I use to work at a cleaning company thats what they used and it has never failed us once.

  5. Try pouring in a can of Coke  in it and let it sit for an hour before flushing. I saw this done on the BBC program, "How Clean is Your House/", and it worked well for them.
