On average I go to sleep a little after the sun comes up. That's bad. :( I take sleeping pills sometimes but they don't really work that well. Anything else I can do?

  1. try a quick w-nk before rolling over to sleep this sometimes helps

  2. do you work shift work? go to the website www.mercola.com and put in sleep into his search engine.

  3. I used to have the same problem so all i did was sit ups till i got tired and then i would fall asleep realy easy. hope this helps.

  4. Firstly, try to limit your other activities in the bedroom, so that your mind will condition itself to bedroom=sleep.

Secondly, drink some warm milk or chamomile tea before sleeping, hopefully before 11 pm.

  5. I can't sleep at night either but it is because I work nights and even on my days off I have the same sleep schedule. If that is not the case, do you sleep a lot during the day? If sleeping at night is what you want your schedule to be you might try melatonin. You get it at the health food store. It works without the side effects of sleeping pills. Sleeping pills usually don't give you a restful sleep. What ever you do don't sleep during the day.

  6. I'd suggest more exercise if you are not very active.

If that doesn't help try using the time creatively like writing, studying, journaling. Journaling especially if you can't sleep because you are a thinker.

Try not to get caught up in the sleeping pill cycle because it is only a band aid solution. Also look into any sleeping disorders.

I have an 8 year old who is a non sleeper and rarely goes to sleep before 11pm and is up at 7:30am. As soon as he goes to bed at 8:30pm his mind starts ticking over and he has to get up and create. (he does it so we don't hear LOL). Some people just can't sleep but sleep is important.
