It's not a ringing, in fact it feels more like a very loud pulse.. like my heart is beating in my right ear! I only get it during the night and morning when my hearing is most sensitive.

I dont know why but I started getting bad sleep about three wks ago because of it.. then I went on holiday (yes, by plane) and it seemed to disappear. I slept generally quite well.

I got back home 3 days ago, and only last night did it come back. It kept me up all night and stopped me from going back to sleep when I woke in the morning.

What is it, did my eardrum pop or something? =/

  1. you should definitely consult your doctor since this has been going on for a while.

in the meantime you could take some ibuprofen and maybe try a warm compress or heating pad over your ear.  that should help relieve some of the pain.
