Question:

I can't stop dressing "high school"?

This is kind of dumb but it's starting to really embarrass me. I have an idea of what looks good but I can't stop dressing like a 16-year-old. I'm 20.

Every time I go to the store I have this weird "tomboy comfort zone" and I never seem to be able to walk away with more than a few new fitted t-shirts, tanks, or some jeans and Converse-like shoes. When I do buy something slightly out of the t-shirt category it's never enough impact or quantity to change my wardrobe. And I'm pretty sure girls scoff at my "purse", but I think the price of designer bags is a complete waste. And if something "dressy-casual" comes up I'm always screwed.

How should I start breaking this?

Also it doesn't help that I have really flat feet, so cute flats are out of the question. And I won't fill out a majority of tops; I have a small to average chest...also I'm taller than average with long legs and thin but still an hourglass, just a stretched out hourglass, very long torso.

  1. Watch What Not To Wear on TLC. That show should give you lots of ideas on how to dress more maturely, especially since a lot of the people they make over dress too young for their age in the beginning.
