I can't tell which side my garbage disposal is on. Help?

Can I tell my the type of sink plugger? I have a divided sink with one drain each on each side, but they have different sink pluggers. How do I tell???

look in the cabinet beneith the sink. The disposal will be directly under one side

Look under the sink.  You will see the disposal

If for some reason you cannot actually see the disposal, either from the cabinet below or by just looking down the drain hole, am not sure just how you are using the disposer.

If your question really centers on which drain plug to use, the disposer side plug does not have an extension on the bottom.  That is because anything sticking down may interfere with what is being ground up.  The other side, non disposer, usually has a similar looking plug, but it will have a plastic or metal guide that is flat, about 1 1/4" long protruding from the bottom and it matches up with the sink's strainer--the part that attaches to the hole in the sink bottom.
