"His inspiration to begin his career in the world of Arts and Entertainment..."

I wouldn't really consider having a Career in the World of Arts and Entertainment, I've only undergone training, I've had a couple of live on-stage performances, but "Career" is a little too big of a word.. What would be a better word to use here?

  1. I also think "career" is the right word.  But instead of "his career", saying "a career" might sound less presumptuous.  Also, "pursue" sounds more tenacious than "begin".  Anyone can begin something, pursuit takes more effort.

"His inspiration to pursue a career in the world of Arts and Entertainment..."

  2. In the context you are using it "career" sounds fine - it shows he has aspirations to be successful in the entertainment field.

By changing the sentence to - " His inspiration to make the world of Arts and Entertainment his vocation "  could also work.

Another way could be to say, "His calling to the world of Arts and Entertainment was inspired by"....

Maybe use a Thesaurus  to find the right alternative word that fits perfectly for you. When you find it - you will know at once.

    Good Luck..

    Edit

You could also use  "field of"    instead of  "world of"

    Cheers
