She is quite a plain girl, not interested in jewelry or make up. She can't read or write and is very difficult to buy for. Any suggestions from people with experience of children with learning difficulties?

  1. why don't you get her some bedding on clothes

  2. Get her a cool tshirt

    x

  3. buy her anything she likes stuffed animals clothes with bright colors or toys that make noise

  4. It depends upon your sister's interests and abilities but a DVD (cartoon or film) might be appropriate, ambient music on a tape or CD, tactile toys/cushions/blankets, etc; disco-light ball (if not hypersensitive to such stimuli) or toys which have lights inside.

  5. jus buy her lots of choclates ..or gt sum clothes..or else take her to the place where she like to spend her time...

  6. Music,dvd,books on tape,bath salts,cologne,bubbles,cozy slippers/socksanything for stimulation,Robin

  7. MUSIC!  I have a lot of experience working with special needs individuals and most of them love music.

My oldest sister is also special needs (and a very plain girl)and she has a love for boxes, totes and magazines.  That is what I get her.  It doesn't seem like much to us but to her its heaven to open a package filled with new magazines.  Does your sister "collect" anything(my sister collects bobble heads and playing cards-basically she thrown them in a tote and runs her hands through them or throwns them on teh floor)?

Building blocks, large Lego's, movies, keyboards, playing cards (not to play games so much as for textile stimulation and dexterity, hand motor skills)

Just keep HER in mind and whatever you choose will be fine.  Nothing you get will make her "normal" so get her what she would love.

  8. How about a beautiful photo throw blanket from

  10. My son can't read or write either and his favorite is music and DVD's he memorized the movies and once he has memorized the entire movies he will watch it again without sound and say word per word the entire movie.  Music he know all songs regardless of type of music.

Is your sister interest in music, movies, or books, stuffed animals.  I purchase gift for my son by the age group is in, he   is 13 but rates around 6-7 years old on a good day.

  11. Depends on her needs and her interest as an individual person.

Is there anything she particularly enjoys-a sport, a game , crafts etc that you can buy her something for?

Is there anything which can help her in her daily life? eg: would getting her pencils with grips support her in her writing and fine skills? Does she like lava lamps or bubble lights for her room? I know that some children I worked with in a secondary school with SEN found the lights soothing and helped them concerntrate.

You could always ask her whats she wants?

  14. Why not take her out for a 'just you and me' day, just two sisters together, doing things that she wants to do as the fancy takes. Being together is as important to her as any present.

  15. you can buy her a game or toy for special cartoon character that she likes or pay attention to it....god bless you and your sister
