I can access other computers in my office network, but they cant access me , why?

i have acer laptop using windows xp, iam connecting my laptop to my office network via ethernet interface, i can access all systems in my network but they cant access me, why? i am trying trying trying now tell me my friend please...............

  1. try to check if they are all connecting to the saem network. or there could be a password authencation in order to enter the network. or if a computers system is different it mite not work either.


  2. Your personal computer is probably in the windows default workgroup: WORKGROUP. While the office computers are probably all in a domain. Ask your Tech guy if he can set up your computer on the domain.

    Otherwise you can try to use one of the office computers and search "Entire Network" and see if you can find the WORKGROUP workgroup under "Microsoft Windows Network."

  3. Turn off the Windows Firewall (or check the box to allow File and Print Sharing).  This will most likely fix your problem.
