    That actually means you are very close to having it work which is good thing.

    Ubuntu has to have the SSID and the Security information entered to connect. The SSID is simply the name of your network. (Many of the defaults are LinkSys, Dlink, NetGear, 2wirexxx, etc) Check the machine that is working you can read the SSID. (or you can log in to the router from a wired machine and change the name to one you know!)

    Then enter the security code (if you have one, hope you do) and click connect.. Ubuntu will just connect and work!

    Its different because you have to enter these items.
