^ uhh, basically. i'm happy with the way my art comes out, but i always end up drawing the same things: people, animals, people, people, animals, people, animals, people, animals, animals. i think i've been trying to improve my art so much that i've become mechanical. ideas used to fly out of my butt.

one day i'd like to making a living off of being an animator, but it will never happen if i can't come up with an idea for short films or tv shows or whatever it is i end up doing.

what do you use for your inspiration, and how can i start thinking more freely?

  1. Drive and walk around a bit and look for things that interest you. Also, make sure to find unusual things that you wouldn't normally see. It should get your mind moving. You'll be getting ideas sooner than you think! (:

  2. how about doing a bit of still-life??

look around your house for a couple of interesting objects, arrange them in a certain way and get drawing, this is what i do when i have trouble feeling creative, it gets you in the artistic state of mind, also how about looking at other artists work? ones you admire or even search the web for some new ones?
