I'm about to go to college in September and i was wondering what exactly would someone major in for being a good artist? I'm going to major in Criminal justice but maybe i just might change that.

Like how did Mike Judge (creator of Beavis and Butt-head) make a career of making a animated series like that? I have alot of good ideas i would love to put out and i got the skills for the drawing.

Where can i start?

  1. Honestly CJ is not that hard, unless you do a ton of tort law, so do a double major or minor in it, that's the best thing to do .  The guy is from here and the guys that started Dave and Busters also.  Good luck.  make the bread and when you hit the big time with the other you will be happy.  Take care.

  2. Hello. I want to encouragee you to draw. Draw all the time that you can. Don't forget all your other studies, though. Especially English expression and writing. Always use the spell checker in this section. It is a big help. You must finish school before you can consider making a career out of drawing. To make well on the open market is a great accomplishment BUT first, it is your job to do well at school. Well means expecting to get marks in the 90 percent range. It is your job to put yourself into it, by studying and understanding all the material which you have no knowledge of at themomentt. Oh, I bet it has been taught to you but as far as remembering, that is another job. Do drawings of your homework problems.Excell at maths. You have the where with all at your fingertips. Use it! Make drawing your hobby and make school studies your hobby, too. Romance? Nup. You can indulge yourself into that when you finish school. You are still a kid until that happens. And when that happens, then is the time to ask how to make your dream come true. Tip. Do the Dale Carnegie Course for salesmen.

  3. major in studio arts and as you figure out exactly what field you want to go into...you can change it up a bit from there. you will have all the required courses done though

  4. A lot of success is being goal oriented, being realistic, and being in the right place at the right time.  Why not use your talent to become a sketch artist for the criminal justice system?  I would think it would be more rewarding than creating just another cartoon character.

  5. di it..............go ahead..................n show it to others in an organised way...........thats it.............

  6. Study graphic design. It will really challenge you with drawing well. If you can do that, then you can get into anything requiring drawing.

  9. I'd like to know too...  I draw portraits.  I've been told all my life that I should do portrait sketches for the police but that really doesn't interest me..  Someone else told me to get into Industrial Design. Maybe you should look into that.  I figure I'll get into Art Therapy or Teaching because it will combine my love of art with my need to assist.

  12. you should learn criminal justice, then in your local town see if there are local art shows and see if you can sign up and then your pictures will get sold then you can go back major in arts sign up for a company as like a artist and just become known. When well known a company may want to sign somthing or you show a show to them like you made and see if they like it

  13. first get some sort of college background in hand art or computer art and even better both, then you might get hired by a cartoon company then introduce your new ideas to them in hopes they will take it or find a way to contact a channel company that would be suited for your idea and pass it by them
