I can find the recycling sign but it doesn't have a number in it what does that mean??

my sons sippy cups came with a peice of paper that shows a recycling sign but it doesn't have any number in it... i just want to know if it is bad for him.

  1. Companies are not required to put recycling codes on their products. So sometimes they put the recycling sign on it to make it appear recyclable even though it is made of a plastic few recycling centers take. Recycling centers hate these products because they are misleading.

    So is it bad for your child, read about bisphenol-A or phlalates. These are two of the worst things in plastics, but they are not in all plastics.


  2. If you are going nuts about plastics (not a judgement, I'm a half-step from this myself), toss it

    If you are looking for a level of convenience and acceptable risk, don't microwave or use hot liquids in your sippy and you should be fine

  3. Not bad for HIM, just bad for the environment--it can't be recycled.
