I can get a good price on a 2005 Renault Megane Dynamique, 1.4 Saloon, any advice?

I am not particularly interested in performance. I am after a safe and reliable car. It has 38,000 kms on the clock.

Depends what a "good deal" is but check out the pencil coils that sit on top of each plug if they haven`t been changed yet then they will need doing before they fail and leave you stranded. Cost from renault appox £70 each fitted. Aftermarket £30 plus fitting. Also if poss ask to have a code reader pluged into the ecu socket located in front of the gaerstick behind plastic flap and check for fault code history this will show any problems that might bite you later on once these cars start to go they realy do go.
