I can get internet on my laptop but not on my comp. why? ?

my computer is connected to a dsl modem and a router. and i get internet from the router for my laptop.

i just bought a new laptop today and was able to connect to the wireless internet. my computer's internet connection works regularly until today. is it because of my new laptop that's connecting to the internet?

Look over all your connections again. The two computers should not conflict. Try this, Shut down your computers, modem and router. Turn on one by one, starting with the modem. Wait for it to negotiate a connection. Now turn on your router then your computers.
