I can get to lough,leics + notts train stations. any ideas where i can take my kids for days out?

i want to take my children out for the day thats easy to get to by train. any ideas and websites would be greatly appreciated.

The National Space Centre is a good day out- its interactive and really interesting for all ages.  thats in Leicester.  

there is a Robin Hood tourist thing for kids in Nottingham but i found that it was not a full day out really.  I would opt for the Space Centre as there is plenty to do.

Check out Central Trains they run services from your area and have a number of special offers including combined rail and admission tickets to Alton Towers, Cadbury World and the National Sea Life Centre.

They also have a number of 2 for 1 vouchers and guides that you can download.

As the previous answer said a day trip to Skegness is also possible.

You could also check out Midland Main Line as they have day out offers that might be of use to you.

Difficult without a car.As usually drive.

Notts castle and the caves broadmarsh.Best really going to the tourist board of all the countys really as events will be on also.And will give you a better choice.

well,not far loughboro' mid,is the Great Central Railway,superb day out,also your not far from the shackerstone {battlefield railway},lots more from uk heritage railways
