I can hear the sound but i cant see the DVD. whats wrong?

I tried to play a dvd on my sony dvd player but i can only hear sound and not see the picture... does this mean there is a loose wire or something its been going like this for a while sometimes i can get the picture if i play around with it but this time i cant get any picture??

Yea, sounds like you have a short in the wire.  You can buy a new one at Walmart for less than $10.  It's the kind that has a red, white and yellow connector at each end.  My tv only needs the white and yellow- one is for sound, the other is for picture.

Try the scart lead, when mine does that it's because the scart cable is loose.

Maybe the audio/video cable.

Have you got a 2nd scart socket? If so, try plugging it into that one instead. Or a 2nd AV out channel? Switch to that.

I used to get the picture with no sound and then I changed scart sockets...
