  1. I used to have the same issue.

If you are like me you are very comfortable with your PW. This means you are willing to swing it at a faster pace than say your 7-iron which you may not be comfortable with.

Could be you are trying way too hard with the 7I and need to back off and focus on good form and tempo.

  2. not knowing if your hitting your PW 150 yards or 7 iron 100 yards makes this difficult.  Likely, your opening or shutting one of the club faces at impact then decreasing or increasing the lofts on the respective clubs.  This is taken into account they are the same clubs with the same shafts....

  3. Turn your 7 iron upside down.  The blade is supposed to be on the bottom.

  4. I'd have to know more details to properly answer the question.  Are you a beginner? Many beginners dont yet have the clubhead speed and dont strike the ball well enough to see much difference from club to club.  All things being equal with a solid strike, the 7 iron has to go further.

  5. hmm, maybe you are just not swinging the same tempo with both clubs. you may want to check out other PWs to see how far you hit them. I would only be worried if you were hitting say a 5 iron the same distance as a PW. Not that bg of a deal, you'll survive.

  6. You are delofting the wedge by cranking your hands way ahead.    Also you may be scooping your 7 iron, which means the club is whipping ahead of your hands slightly at impact.

  7. could be that you are skulling the wedge too much, that club should have a more up and down motion with the club to get height on the ball...your 7 iron you are suppose to be a little rounded at take off..

  8. Are you sure its the 7 iron, and not your Lob wedge? get it......"L"...... check your clubs mate.

  9. My first thought was that your hands may be way ahead of the ball on your PW and in a more normal position with the 7 iron..

When I need a little more distance, I play my hands a little more forward..

I hope you figure it out!

  10. get the loft and lies checked on your clubs especially if you have forged clubs

  11. Either your clubs are bent, or you are just not hitting your seven iron far enough.  Try swinging a little harder.  Where do your eight and nine irons fall into the equation?  Shorter than the wedge, longer than the 7?
