  1. a coach

  2. keep your toes pointed when going up and squeez your fingers together with your back straight..and smack that ball..

  3. you got to go quicker. A lot of hitter just arn't quick enough to play middle even though they are great 4 or 5 hitters thats just the wat it is sometimes.

  4. I agree with redpeach, work on your vertical.  Also, footwork, or approach is very important.

  5. most people can hit really well from the left side because that's the side of your dominant hand and you come in at an angle. Middle is harder because you have to rely on your jumping abilities because there is no angle. work on your vertical and you'll be fine. try calf raises everyday.

  6. Foot work is critical as hitting in the middle is more about timing and quickness than power.  As an outside hitter you have to have more power and the ability to tool the block.  Hitting from the middle requires timing as you are getting the ball at a 1-2; with a setter that can hide where the ball is going you can get it down faster.  That said, if you are working against a disciplined middle blocker, you will have more issues and have to work angles from the middle because the blocker is going to stick to you.

    Good Luck!

  7. I play middle front myself and it is hard for me to keep it in too. But my coach told me like when you serve to a certain spot and you point your toes and body that way you have to do the same thing when you spike. Also you said it is going out if you don't get too close to the net it might stay in.
