TELL ME WHAT PALIN HAS DONE , SHE HAS AS MUCH EXPERIENCE AS MY MAYOR WHO IS A PART TIME GARBAGE MAN.. NAME HER EXPERIENCE?

This is not counting the over 10,000 bills in the state senate.

Obama:

Senate Accomplishments:

Since entering the U.S. Senate in January 2005, Senator Obama has written approximately 890 bills and co-sponsored an additional 1096.

Senators Obama and McCain have been running to be the nominee for President for their parties since January 2007. Therefore the 890 bills written by Senator Obama and the 1096 he co-sponsored all occurred in a 2-year span. That shows that he is a prolific and tireless Senator.

Because of the long-drawn-out nature of passing laws in the Senate many of his bills are still in committee and some were vetoed by republicans. Senator Obama has an impressive record by anyone’s standard.

For someone who supposedly has no record (according to his competitors) his record of accomplishments are extraordinarily impressive and inspiring.

· Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act.(This is the first federal legislation to be enacted with Obama as its primary sponsor) Became law

· Secure Fence Act. Authorized construction of fencing and other security improvements along the United States–Mexico border

Became law

· The Lugar–Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act. The Bill expanded the Nunn–Lugar cooperative threat reduction concept to conventional weapons, including shoulder-fired missiles and anti-personnel mines Became Law

· The “Coburn–Obama Transparency Act” eliminated gifts of travel on corporate jets by lobbyists to members of Congress and the establishment of USAspending.gov , a web search engine launched in December 2007 and run by the Office of Management and Budget to require lobbyists to disclose the candidates, leadership PACS or political parties for whom they collect or arrange contribution and the combined amount of the contributions Became law

· Amendment to the State Children’s Health Insurance Program providing one year of job protection for family members caring for soldiers with combat-related injuries Passed in Senate

· Energy Policy Act of 2005 to add $200 million for Function 270 (Energy) for the demonstration and monitoring of carbon capture and sequestration technology by the Department of Energy Passed in Senate

· The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act (after amendments became the Secure Fence Act which became law) Passed in Senate

· Education Bill. Require that the Director of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering Education to establish a program to recruit and provide mentors for women and underrepresented minorities who are interested in careers in mathematics, science and engineering. Passed in Senate

· Summer Term Education Program. Supports summer learning opportunities for low-income students in the early grades to lessen summer learning losses that contribute to the achievement gaps separating low-income students from their middle-class peers Passed in Senate

· Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007 a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008. Republicans voted against

· Iran Sanctions Enabling Act supporting divestment of state pension funds from Iran’s oil and gas industry Republicans voted against

· Sponsored an amendment to the Defense Authorization Act adding safeguards for personality disorder military discharges, and calling for an official review following reports that the procedure had been used inappropriately to reduce government costs Republicans voted against

  1. The question is, out of all of Obama's so called accomplishments, what has actually worked? We are waiting on that answer.

Sarah Palin has drastically reduced taxes for the people of Alaska, Has balanced the budget of Alaska, that's the upside down budget of Alaska. Fought the oil companies against their unfair practices in Alaska and won by the way. Has fought for tapping the Alaska resources to help the rest of the country as she helped Alaska and has stuck by all of her conservative views throughout her public service.

Now what was it that Obama did that the average citizen noticed the result of????????????????????????

  2. Obama has no executive experience, all that is is smoke and mirrors...

  3. More words, doesn't mean more accomplishments...Look at what you've copy/pasted and see how much of it is really something Obama has done that is truly beneficial

Sarah has had a multitude of personal successes, but I'll just post some of her political ones for relevancy:

Palin is the first woman governor of Alaska, the first person to serve as governor that was born after Alaska was granted statehood, was mayor and served on city council.

She has traveled overseas, more times than Obama, to visit wounded soldiers and one of her sons is set to be deployed to Iraq in September.

Palin’s accomplishments in Alaska dwarf Obama’s time in the Senate. She has killed pork barrel projects including the Bridge to Nowhere and passed ethics reform in Alaska that effectively ended the political career of many Republicans. She passed a constitutional ban on g*y marriage but signed into law benefits for homosexual couples. And unlike the current Senate, has passed a budget in the amount of $6.6 billion that included several hundred cuts in wasteful programs, saving taxpayers over $200 million.

Palin's popularity soared above 80% as she shelved pork-barrel projects by fellow Republicans and jump-started a campaign by her lieutenant governor, Sean Parnell, to unseat veteran U.S. Rep. Don Young of Alaska, who is now being investigated by the FBI.

Ms. Palin has shown similar boldness in going after Big Oil, whose money has long dominated the state and helped fund its Republican machine. In a snub to the oil majors, she has proposed TransCanada Corp., a Calgary energy company, be given the primary contract to lead the $30 billion job to build a natural-gas pipeline from Alaska's North Slope.

"Palin has accomplished a feat which has eluded the U.S. Congress for many years. She has pushed through the Alaska legislature a natural gas pipeline project which will bring new supply and price relief to the lower 48:

On Aug. 1, the same day the call for a vote on drilling began on the House floor, the Alaska state Senate approved a package of measures to license a new natural gas pipeline. House Bill 3001 lets Palin award the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act license to TransCanada Alaska, a pipeline builder that cast a winning bid of five.

The legislature had been trying for 30 years to authorize something like this and, up until now, had blown it. Palin got it through. Getting it off the ground, the state says, will be the biggest construction project in U.S. history.

Palin considers the $26 billion project her biggest accomplishment as governor. "It was not easy," she told IBD. "Alaska has been hoping and dreaming for a natural gas pipeline for decades. What it took was getting off the dime and creating a competitive market in Alaska."

The 1,715-mile gas line would stretch from Alaska's North Slope to Fairbanks and down to Alberta, Canada. Then it would take existing gas lines to Idaho. In 10 years, Palin says, the lower 48 states would receive 4.5 million cubic feet of natural gas a day. By 2030, according to Energy Department estimates, Alaska's annual natgas production would quintuple to 2 trillion cubic feet."

There's much more, but I think you may be getting the point.

The presidency and our government is about GOVERNING...Obama has never done that, Palin has:

A governor is basically the 'president' of their state...They have the same responsibilities as a president (balancing budgets, raising/lowering taxes, approving or vetoing state bills, etcetera...They even have a 'cabinet'), just on a state level rather than federal...So she already does what a president does, just on a much smaller scale...That's why everyone points out her 'executive experience', which Obama, Biden and McCain (and even Hillary) do not have.

I got this from 2 other people here, these are vaild and ACCURATE points:

    1) Even as a Mayor, Palin STILL has more experience as an Executive Officer. As Governor, she even adds MORE to that as a CEO PLUS, is Commander of the National Guard Unit.

Senators do NOT administer Budgets for 103 Departments, negotiate contracts, take Fiscal Responsibility and a dozen OTHER jobs and duties. The similarity between what a Senator and a Governor does are as different as night/day. WHEN does that FACT set into the minds of Obama supporters.

    2) You really don't know what the Governor of Alaska has to do, do you?

Given the nature of that job any Alaskan governor routinely deals with Canada and Russia over several issues, among them trade, oil, security, transportation, and fishing rights. That's already more foriegn diplomatic experience than Senator Obama.

  4. Ted Stevens got earmark funding for an Alaskan "bridge to Nowhere"

Governor Palin cancelled the project and returned the money to the U.S. Treasury.

She has travelled to foriegn countries to promote invesment in Alaska, has met with the governments of Canada and Russia in an official capacity, and has raised taxes on oil companies.

  5. As Democrat supporting Mayor of Detroit Kwama Kilpatrick as proof, it is possible to ruin an area in a short amount of time. Granted Detroit was already a mess to begin with, but it has gotten even worse under Kilpatrick.

With Obama himself 's record as proof, some politicians are only for the benefit of their own race.

Your very own list of his deeds has convinced me that black people come first for him, and white people will fund it.

Sarah "the Barracuda" Palin, former Mayor of Wasilla, and current Governor of Alaska:

She governs an area that is larger than any nation in Europe.

Alaska's coastline is longer than the rest of the USA's combined.

Her city as Mayor, and her state as Governor, didn't become  crime infested, bankrupt, low performing schools, with decaying neighborhoods.

Believe me, I can name many places that seemed to go into the toilet overnight when certain individuals took office.

Alaska under Palin isn't one of them.

  6. Since there is soo much to write, read it here!

  7. Most of what you state are simply votes. I can do that. And he was there for only 50% of the votes he was eligible for. The bills his name is actually on are pissant do nothing bills that sound good on the news. He was not the author and has not been the author of anything substantive or remotely resembling the sweeping change he keeps preaching.  And for you to suggest that the people of Alaska are less important because of fewer numbers is typical.

His resume really looks like this without all the candy coating:

    Obama's Resume:

    1-Community Organizer

2-Non existant legal career (in fact he bragged about not accomplishhing anything in law)

    3-Temp law school professor

4-Illinois State Senator 1997-2004 (No major legislation passed)

5-US Senator 2004-Present (No major legislation passed) Absentee 50% of the time

Mrs. Palin has actually held real jobs and worked her way to where she is.

    Palin's Resume:

1-Sports reporter for local Anchorage tv station while also working with her husband as a commercial fisherman

2-Mr. and Mrs. Palin owned an outdoor motor vehicle store from 1994-1997

3-From 1992-1996 served two terms on the Wasilla City Council

4-1996 defeated the encumbent mayor citing wasteful spending and high taxes as her battle cry

5-Cut her own salary as well as reduced property taxes by 60%

6-Elected President of the Alaska Council of Mayors

7-Appointed Ethics Commisioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Committee

8-Elected as the youngest and first woman to be Alaska's Governor

9-Successfully pushed for an ethics bill and shelved pork barrel projects by fellow Republicans

10-In all of 2007 she had a voter approval rating in 90 percentile

11- As of JUly 2008, Hays Research showed her approval rating at 80%. The highest approval rating of any Governor in the USA.

  8. She took on Big oil and ate them for lunch.  She beat a Republican in the primaries that was 20 years of political experience and she beat a two-time incumbent governor.  She is a no-nonsense person and she can take the men on and win.  Obama speech at DNC will pail to her speech at the RNC. All she has to do is show his vulnerability with women issues and the CNn special shows how he discredited Palmer a person who gave him his start in Chicago. If it isn't politically expedient it has to go.  I bet he married ugly Michelle to get ahead. Look how he pursue her and looked how he metoeric rose in the ranks -- all calculated as a social path.

  9. Can you RECITE something beside Obamas own website?

UNBIASED opinion of Obamas "accomplishments", please.

    Undecided - Independent.

  10. She got rid of the gasoline tax in Alaska and transferred that tax to the oil companies.  Wish someone would do that in my state!!!  She lowered property taxes, again, wish someone would do that in my state!!  She got the "Bridge to Nowhere" cancelled...that was $233 Million Dollars the Democratic Congress was going to spend for nothing.  I can see you are a strong Obama supporter.  Good for you.  That is what makes America great.  We all have the right to choose.

  11. There's no doubt to the educated that Palin has more executive experience and is more capable and has better judgment and stronger convictions than Obama, but calling her overall more experienced than McCain and all of this other junk you're touting has you coming off a wee bit like a feminist, Sara S. I highly doubt a POW is a closet "warmonger"

  12. Yes, Obama voted present to all the above proposals.

  13. Governor's rook to senator's king's pawn-check-and checkmate.

BO has no business experience. Palin has more experience than Biden, McCAin, and BO all rolled into one.

She is a great choice to balance McCAin's expertise in international affairs, and help his economic plan, and she will bring a softer, more reasonable touch to the inflamed male-governed war mongering, tempering the male testosterone of BO Biden and McCain.

And all that c**p you've listed are sponsors of bills-none of which he's every passed.

What about Chicago? He hasn't fixed it and it's in his state?

  14. You forget, she is a governor.....which is executive experience. A governor out trumps any senator.
