  1. When you make the rolling r sound, you are forcing the air over the tip of your tongue fast enough for it to vibrate. However, your problem seems to be when you use the air to vibrate your vocal chords, it's not enough to also produce the rolling r.

Try making the "voice" farther back in your throat and allowing more air to reach your tongue. I don't know if you can make any sense out of what I'm trying to say, but I hope it helps a little.

  2. The way I explain it to beginning Spanish students is like this:

Take the word Senor (I can't make the tilde over the n with my computer, sorry).

Say the word without trying to roll the r.

Now say it again and make sure you form the last sound (the r) with your lips, but add a "d" to the end, just BARELY touching your tongue to the roof of your mouth when you make it.  It will sound something like 'senord'. Try it a couple more times, a little quicker each time.  Listen carefully to the sound. You don't want it to sound like "sen-yor-duh".  You want it to sound like "sen-yor'd".  Hope this helps.

  3. pronounce the whole word or sentence in a spanish accent until you can do it with your normal voice. Hope I help.
