I can make costome made pillow cases but.......?

i already have an idea about selling some in a yard/garage sale but who would like to have a costome made pillow case. i would like to make a profit. i don't know how much the fabric cost since it is "costome made" and idk what they want. i can make pillow cases w/ or w/out the pillow. i buy the fabric and the thread and needles (i hand sow the pillow cases). i can't put a picture on here cause i didn't take a picture yet but it looks so......store bought (only with out the tag altho the pillow might have a tag) but i would like to sell them only i need people to sell them 2 and i need to figure a price out

REMEMBER: hand sown (not sowing machein or something)

all i need is prices and people 2 sell them 2 (i can do plain colors and i can get some fabric with pictures on it. and soon i will make a web site and tell everyone on yahoo about it.)

First of all, do you know if people even want a hand sewn custom pillow case? What's a valuable skill to you, may mean nothing to a customer. For example when I was doing original and custom Christmas stockings with extra strong linings, I realized people are actually happy with the choices at Big Lots, and they don't even care about a lining.

When I finally figured out what I could sew that would sell well, I did launch my own website and that is still going strong. I highly recommend it. But you will need someone to help you with the spelling.

Have you tried etsy.com? It's like ebay but all for crafters! And they don't take much off of your profit!

Maybe you could focus on personalization for weddings or anniversaries? I bet people would spend a little extra for something nice like that!

What are your construction costs per pillow? That will help decide how much you should be charging.
