it takes me a long time to fall asleep (about an hour or more) because my legs (from my knees to my ankles) are so restless and my hands are too, and it always feels like i have to stretch them out and move them around. i'll get up and walk around but it doesnt help. ice or heating pads dont help. its like a constant horrible feeling of needing to stretch. im only 15 so its not like arthritis or anything like that right? does anyone know what could be wrong and how to fix it?

  1. Just take a nice warm bath and a glass of milk right before you hit the sack and you'll be out before you can say twinkle toes, Guaranteed.

  2. What you're going through just isn't normal.  I think it's something that can easily be fixed.  If it's Restless Leg (and Arm) Syndrome, your doctor will give you Mirapex.

You need to be examined.  Then your doctor will figure it out, and you'll be kicking yourself for not going to the doc's sooner!!  Try to get in tomorrow, Ok?  Good !

Bless you and Good luck!  :)

  3. I agree that it sounds like RLS, or Restless Leg Syndrome.  I have it, and I completely sympathize!  The only thing I can do is move my legs around or stretch them a lot, or get up and walk.  They'll eventually feel better.  There are medications out there for RLS... if you're desperate, talk to your doc about them.  I'm not quite to that point yet myself.  Good luck to you!!

  4. Sounds like Restless Leg Syndrome.  You might want to talk to your family doctor about it.

I would get it if 1) I took sinus medication or 2) if I didn't exercise that day or 3) I drank too much soda that day.  I would walk around at night when it happens, even just pacing in the hallway when the urge to move my legs hits and usually in less that 5 minutes it would go away. (Sounds like that doesn't help you though)

The other thing may be a lack of calcium, but also you would need to talk to your doctor about that. (Drinking soda, any type, drains the calcium from your bones and can lead to problems with your legs.)

I hope this helps!  Good luck!
