I can not add friends in Face Book

Question

My Face Book is not letting me add friends. Every other feature is working.However, when I select add a friend it just says "loading". It never finishes. Also, the "time" icon that shows that the computer is doing something does not appear. There is still an arrow even though the screen says loading.
