  1. Replace filter in pump and shock it. Shock cost about $20 at Walmart.

  2. your filter is fine,  live algae  goes thru the filter.  when its dead the filter will catch it.   that is always one way to tell   if you have shocked it enough and your chlorine level and other levels are good. watch your gauge on your filter and keep it backwashed  and get your chemicals to all the correct levels

  3. besides having alge in your pool and water that isnt properly ph balenced, im assuming u put chemicals in your pool for sanitization... let me ask u this, would u rather swim in a chemical free pool that is monitered remotely 24/7 so u dont have to?  email me at info@itsallhollywood.com and i tell u how to do this

  4. you are going to have to schock it.

Basically, what that means is you have to go to a store (walmart is fine) and ask someone who works there for the chemicals to "shock" your pool. I don't think it's too expensive and what that will do is kill all the algae and insects that are growing and living in your pool, but be careful, when shocking a pool you can't swim in the chemicals for 72 hrs. or something.

    hope this helps

    -good luck : )

  5. i dont think your filter is working ........... back flush it may need to resand your filter
