  1. you need to hang around people that speak spanish. try staying in a spanish speaking country so you can become fluent. that s the fastest way you will learn.

what helps is watching spanish t.v.

  2. Well, I can read, write and listen English, but I can't speak it very well (I'm from Argentina). Perhaps because we don't interact so often with people who speaks that language. You need to find someone who speak it, and talk to him/her a lot. Maybe me too :D

    Adiós.

  3. Speak it with natives. The best is going to Spain

Otherwise, come to Hialeah. It is not the same, but well

  4. i am in the same boat. im really set on learning spanish.  watch tv, its boring and difficult and you have to concentrate and drown out other things and maybe put on closed captioning. get audio cds from the library.  as writing and reading go hand in hand so do speaking and listening.  if you have an opportunity to talk to a native do it.  and when u go to mexcian restaurants or whatever dont be ashamaed to try your spanish.

  5. Dude, I'm the same way, almost.

I think in Spanish, but when I speak, it comes out in English.  It's really wild.  I've never even been to Mexico, or had a Spanish class.

    :-P

  6. Practice speaking it, thats all.

  7. Practice, practice, practice!!

Speak it whenever you get a chance; don't be shy!

If you go to a restaurant with Spanish-speaking employees, ask to practice with them!  Same thing if you go to a store, or any other business!

Join a chatroom (online) where you can meet people from Spanish-speaking countries, and practice with them!  (sort of like penpals, but online ones! ☺)

Another suggestion: when you read, practice reading aloud, with great emphasis on intonation, so that the sound of your voice in Spanish becomes more natural to you!

  8. I have the same problem.  I've been studying the language for 3 years.  When I'm listening or reading spanish,   I understand it really well  but I can't keep a conversation going. You should practice alot. I watch spanish channels and I practice reading it. The only thing that helps me become more fluent is practicing online and repeating some sentences or phrases. If you have any spanish friends that speak spanish you could try and practice with them. That helped me.

  9. Accustom yourself to Spanish speak. Watch Spanish TV or movies in massive doses. Read Spanish a lot. Go in a spanish country and get your ear used to it.

The key is to get used to the expressions they use. The more you immerse yourself into this culture, the faster you will learn it. It all comes down to practice.

  10. I took Spanish for 4 years in school and it wasn't until I went to Spain for 10 days that I really learned "how" to speak Spanish.  I HAD to speak it in order to communicate with people.  There are certain nuances about Spain-Spanish and Puerto Rican Spanish and Mexican Spanish (didn't mean to leave out any Spanish speaking countries).  Immerse yourself in it and you will pick it up in no time at all.

  11. Make friends w/ppl who speak spanish?
