I can understand why swimmers shave their bodies -- but why do male divers?

  1. Divers generally don't shave, unless it might be for appearance.


  2. Seeing as the entrance into the water is one of the most important aspects in a dive, I'd expect that being streamlined is still important, not just for speed, but to ensure a smooth, clean glide through the water?

  3. It's just a matter of preference. Shaving does not have any effect on their diving. Some just prefer to be totally hairless, which is understandable when you're in a speedo, seen by millions across the world.
