I cannot adjust the way

I cannot adjust the way my mouse scrolls. My hard drive crashed and I have a new hard drive but since getting it back my scrolling on a page is very jerky not smooth the way it used to be. I have a logitech mouseware disk from when I originally purchased the mouse but the disk is not for windowsxp it. How do I fix this issue?
