I cannot connect my camcorder to my computer and have the videos show up.?

I have a panasonic PV-GS19 and when i hook up the usb cord to it, it show up but there is no way to see the tape or anything. I think i might have to download something any suggestions.

Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder.

You cannot transfer video to your PC via USB!!! Video transfer is accomplished with a firewire connection ONLY!!! Visit the Panosonic support site for your camcorder model for further instructions!! You will need to purchase a firewire cable and most likely visit your PC support website to see if your PC has a firewire port. Good luck.
