I recently formatted my harddrive due to a virus and had to reload my XP OS. Of course I don't have the other drivers for it but I found most on my comps website. I could not find the drivers for my network adapter though. When I plug in the ethernet cable it says, "limited or no connectivity" but I can use it on my other PC fine. I suspect it's a driver issue but I don't know where to find them. I have tried uninstalling the device and letting Windows plug and play find it but without success. I'm out of ideas. btw my IP address starts with 169 which may be significant

  1. You need to install network adapter driver. Without it you cannot connect. what kind of system do you have? i might be able to find the driver for you.

  2. try to reload your nic driver..then check if your ip will stay on 169..
