I cannot connect to the internet using my wireless router

Question

hi..i'm having router problems...until recently i had been living at another flat...i used a different ISP and used my current router for wireless connection. everything worked fine. but now i changed where i'm living and I have a different ISP here...but the internet will not connect to the router. My laptop finds my router and gives and excellence connectivity but I cannot open any sites :/

can anyone please help?

the router still has your old isp details....phone the new isp to get the info u need to set up ....they will (should) help you set up while your on the phone

It sounds like the wireless link is OK, the problem is between the router and the ISP.  First thing to do is to ring your ISP, and they will check the line and the modem link to ensure it is operational.  If you have some technical knowledge, you can connect to the wireless router and check the link first.  The ISP will very quickly be able to tell you if your link is OK..  Good luck.

Actually, I can say with quite a degree of certainty that your wireless is OK.  If you moved your computer and router together, the settings would not have changed.  Hence the wireless is OK.  The problem is with your modem connecting to the ISP.  As I said, ring your ISP and the problem will be fixed.

your ISP has to connect your router to the internet in the telephone exchange.  Ring them, go to their website for support phone number.

There are about a billion ways to fix this.

My Computer-Network Places- Click on your Wireless Connection- Right Click and click Repair

Click your wireless finder, go to add, click the available network

Right click you wireless connection and click Enable

TEMPORARILY disable your firewall and try connecting again

Remove all wireless networks and re-add them
