I'm trying to connect my belkin wireless g router. When i connect it, the wifi works but on my windows desktop computer (in which it is connected to) is not able to connect.

i've tried typing in 192.168.2.1 and all these other numbers that i've found on google into my internet browser but it just keeps saying that the page cannot be displayed? some help?

  1. usually a consumer router will assign itself 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway.  try typing this in your browser:  http://192.168.1.1


  2. Your computer must be connected to the router's 'DSL In' (or Modem In) slot with an Ethernet (CAT5) cable for this address to work.  Try that to get the router management interface.

    While you're there, give the router a name & create a management passphrase; turn off UPnP; use the WPA encryption level & a good heavy duty passphrase (for internet access)
