I cannot delete avi video clips please helppp!!!!!

Question

deleted avi video clips appears again after refreshing the folder

this happens even with the removable disk

after it appears again i cannot delete cos it says Access is denied. the source file may be in use

is this a virus or something else??

pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No it is not a virus, it is when windows gets thumbnails for the avi videos that lock the files. Just log out and log in again and it should work.

i advise you restart your pc and go straight into the folder containing the files you wish to delete, as to make sure they are not being used then hold shift and press delete, this should by-pass them straight past the recycling bin, if the problem still consists try cutting the files (ctrl x) and moving them elsewhere then deleting them - hope this helped, ps. wear protection - children live for a long time

If its saying the source file may be in use it means you have been playing the files but have not closed the player you were using. So you cant delete files that are still attached to other programs. Try closing all other programs before deleting and if that fails it means the files were corrupted by viruses. If the videos were on, say a memory stick, copy the other files you need to another location but leave the corrupted ones and then format the stick. You can do this by right clicking on it, click format then quick format. Once thats done return your other stuff back. Good luck!
