I've always enjoyed googling my friends names to find out what the name means, and i've started trying with last names. I have found a few, but when i search my own last name, i can never find any info on it. If anyone could help me find a reliable yet free source of last names that has the name Monceaux in its list, i would greatly appreciate the effort.

Please only post if you have the answer, and don't put stuff like "i dont know dude" or "i have the same problem", or any kind of spam like that. I need serious answers please!

  2. A village in Sussex, England, was named after the great grandson of William the Conquerer, Drogo de Monceux.

    Herstmonceux

The manor that became Herstmonceux is first mentioned in the Domesday Book as being part of the lands of the Count of Eu, and was owned by the de Herst family. In 1131 the Count's grandson transferred the manor to Drogo de Monceux, great grandson of William the Conqueror , who married Idonea de Herst, their son was known as Walleran de Herst Monceux

Edit : Please be aware that you must prove descent, by way of documentary evidence,  from the man who was awarded a coat of arms, before you are entitled to legally use one, a coat of arms does NOT belong to everyone who just happens to have the same name.
