I cannot get my Pioneer car stereo to work. Put a new Battery in, and haven't been able to turn it on since.

I cannot get my Pioneer car stereo to work. Put a new Battery in, and haven't been able to turn it on since.

  1. it might have a theft lock on it, some radios will do that.


  2. Check fuses first, second, did you install this? Sometimes people will run the constant 12v directly to the battery, if this was the case, did you reattach it when installing the new battery?  

  3. Change the fyse in the back of the headunit

  4. check your fuses in your car and in the stereo

  5. look through the paper work that came with the unit.   A lot of newer stereo's need a code entered any time they are disconnected from the power source before they will work again.  Its a theft deterrent thing, so if that is the case you just have to push a series of buttons and it will start working again.  otherwise, could be a fuse or could be bad connection somewhere.
