I can't sleep! Lately when I go to sleep late and wake up late like at 6pm I stay awake until the next day. At first my idea is to stay awake until lie 9 pm and then go to sleep so that i can start waking up early. But, during the day that I haven't slept I end up falling asleep like around 3 or 4 and wake up lie 2 or 3 ours later.

Now it is 1:13 am and I am sleepy but cannot bring my mind to stop thinking and just relax and go to sleep. I feel like thinking and reading and doing a million things like washing my hair and styling it, cleaning my room, organize documents in my computer, organize my drawers!

What is wrong with me?

What can I do?

PS I could take benadryl because it make me sleepy and drowsy but I just can't bring my self to want to go to sleep.

  1. i count sheep and drink a glass of water

  2. You have creative energy waiting to burst forth.  You are nocturnal and have a creative side you may or may not have tapped into.  This is perfectly cool.  Creative people tend to stay awake until the wee hours of the morning.  Most of their creative juices are flowing then.  It is quiet, time to think to yourself and freedom to be yourself.

You could also journal at this time.  This will help you sleep, because you will be able to put the day behind you in writing.  Trust me.

  3. i see whats going on!

u joined yahoo answers a month ago and you have answered sooo many questions and that's why i believe that u r hooked up to yahoo answers. log off and turn off all lights and make your self comfe in your bed..

the best thing is that if u do all the stuff that you wrote while you are awake than you wont have many things on your mind and you willl be relaxed and burden free. therefore your mind will be willing to go to sleep instead of thinkiing about all the things that u have 2 do.

eat light dinner, do some light exercise, and drink a warm glass of milk..             well, i hope that helps.   the stuff about your hooked up with Y-answers is just 2 make u laugh. but think about it!!!!!!!

  4. The timing of your exercise and dietary intake is probably in conflict with the sleep schedule you want. Exercise is best in the morning. A good meal is best early, and only light meals later. Sugar in the blood feeds the brain, so have the most in morning and the least in the evening, same with caffeine.
