I cannot make any excuses for the defeat, says http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 boss Bert van Marwijk – International news
Netherlands head coach, Bert van Maarwijk, has expressed that he does not have any excuses for his side’s 3-0 friendly defeat to Germany at Imtech Arena on Tuesday, November 15.
Die Mannschaft dominated proceedings right from the start and staged an exciting brand of football in front of their home crowd. First-half strikes from Thomas Muller and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049 ensured that they had taken away the game from the Oranje at the half-time
break.
Mesut Ozil’s impressive goal after the break made sure that Die Mannschaft cruise to an easy and convincing win over the 2010 World Cup runners-up without any unexpected hassles.
Van Marwijk openly admitted that the defeat hurt badly and admitted that the home side played impressive counter-attacking football.
“This defeat hurts. It did not look good to us. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 are very good on the counter-attack. They were already good in that area, but now they also play very good football generally”, Van Marwijk said while talking to the media.
The Oranje head coach then went on to reveal that he has no excuse for his side’s demoralising loss and asserted that the defeat was truly justified.
“I cannot make any excuses. The defeat was justified. Our most creative players were not there. Germany has a wider potential pool of players anyway. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374 were not even on. Germany has a lot of creative players”, the 59-year-old
tactician added.
Van Marwijk concluded his statement by claiming that he does not fear Germany and stressed that he has only respect for them.
“I don't fear Germany, but I do have respect for them, and I had that before this match”, he concluded.
The loss means that the Flying Dutchmen end the 2011 year on a low note, failing to win any of their last three encounters. Die Mannschaft, meanwhile, clearly showed their credentials as one of the favourites for EURO 2012, which will be held in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 and
