  1. There are a lot of groups that require you to state your age in your public profile in order to become a member.  Some of those groups are adult in nature and some are not.

To add your age in your public profile, Go to http://my.yahoo.com and sign in.

Click on "My Account" near top of screen.

    Enter your password.

On the far right side of page, click on "Edit/Create Profiles."

Near top of page, to the right of the profile you wish to edit, click on "Edit".

Click on "Edit Profile Information" tab.

In the blank field to the right of "Age", type in your true age in years.   Example: 21

Scroll to bottom of page and click on "Save Changes".

  2. incorrect- if you cant access certain groups it's due to the DOB you added to your account when you created it. the DOB on an account is what prevents access to adult groups. safety filter for kiddo's out there. you can not edit that DOB on an account.

some group owners require this on profiles but it's not a Yahoo TOS issue. if that's the case, go add a number to your profile
