  1. They have a whole bunch in Louisiana. go to lovethatcat.com theres a list for free nueters for wild cats and low cost for tame ones. theres also friendsofanimals.org, 1-800-248-spay and spayusa.org hope this helps and ignore all the negative people out there, at least your searching to help an animal and not just letting it be. Good luck, your doing the right thing.

  2. www.animalliberationfront.com/Practical/...

    Hope this helps

  3. call animal control

  4. Look for a shelter or organization specializing in cats in your area and see if they can't help you. They should have have-a-heart traps and volunteers who have experience in taming feral cats and finding them homes.

  5. Try contacting a local shelter. Sometimes they can give you deals for that kind of stuff and can make it a lot cheaper! That's what we did with our cat. He was wild and we called a shelter and they helped us find a vet and got us a special deal! Good Luck and I hope this helps!

  6. You don't get a cat or you get rid of your cat and get an easier animal to take care of or no animal at all. Animals cost money and if you can't afford one, don't make their life miserable just to make you happy. You will feel heartbroken if you have a cat and it dies to rabies just because you didn't have enough money to vaccinate it.

  7. Many shelters have programs that will do no-cost neuters and rabies vaccinations on feral cats.  Call your local ones, and see if one is available in your area.

  8. There are organizations that help pay for neutering/ spaying... i DO THIS ALL THE TIME.

It is VERY important a wild cat gets spayed/neutered so more breeding does not occur.

Call the shelter for help or organizations... they also may give vouchers.

I called Actors and others and I got a voucher that was good for the entire operations (but I am in CA) so look for something in your area.

Get a live trap.  set it and AS SOON as someting goes in (considering it is a wild cat) COVER THE TRAP... (so the cat is not terrified) and then just take the trap and all to the vet.  [put the food on some waxed paper or aluminum foil and then PLACE THE TRAP OVER THE TOP OF THE FOOD... that way you won't have a tin of food rattling around inside the trap when you lift it up]

If you are having trouble getting them to go inside the trap... wire the door open and start feeding them inside the trap... first in the front then farther then farther... until the food is all the way in the back... THEN SET THE TRAP... put the food under the trap...

(call around ... some vets offer discounts for animals who are ferral... and then with the voucher it is all covered)

For ferral cats I have their ears notched so that they will be visable that they have been fixed.

I do not give the cats shots... (just my opinion) but that is up to you... of course you will only be able to give the first series of shots.  after that they are on their own.

    good luck >^..^<

  9. Go to the SPCA or an organization like it and ask them for information on any vets that spay or neuter on a sliding scale or free of charge.

  10. Many local Humane Societies now have special "TNR" (Trap-Neuter-Release) programs where you bring in the feral cat by 10AM and they will have it ready to go back to its colony by 4PM the same day. Free. But you do have to catch the cat.

The HavaHeart trap is the best one and is the one everyone thinks of when they think "cat trap" since it never hurts the animal and is very effective. It helps if you know who has such a trap and then they can help you with the set up.

But if you can catch the cat without injury to it or you and put it in a carrier you can get the same job done.

Google "Humane Society <your zip code>" and see what comes up. Then call them and ask about their TNR program.

Good luck to you and the kitties. They need a friend like you.

Contact them to see if there are local chapters or groups that can help you.  I have encountered this problem wherever I go-  I've got feral kittens on my property as we speak and am having problems catching the mother.  Oh, did I mention I have no $$$ either?  Call or email them.  Good luck.

TO CATSRCOOL:  What part of "wild cat" didn't you get?  It's not a pet.  It's a feral cat.  That means SOMEBODY ELSE dumped their 'problem' on this person.  Learn to read, please!
