I cant capture video from a panasonic nv-gs180 to a macbook pro using a firewire cable...help!!!?

If you really are using a 4-pin to 6-pin firewire cable (and you are NOT using the miniUSB cable that came in the box with the camcorder)

and

If the firewire port on the MacBook Pro is operational (System Preferences: Network: Network Configuration - and there is a check mark in the Firewire box),

Then iMovieHD, FinalCut Express or FinalCutPro should immediately pick this up as being connected - and allow the DV to be imported.

If it does not, it is possible that the

DV port on the camcorder is either bad or not configured properly;

the firewire cable is bad

the firewire port on the Mac is bad
