  1. i race a kx 125 and it is pretty fast but if you want faster get up and go you need a 250 but it all depends on the rider because i beat people with my 125 all the time

  2. if you don't race, which it doesn't look like you do, the 125's top end isn't going to be going anywhere. it will be fine. also the 250f doesn't really have more maintenance than the 125 2-stroke. i'd say they're almost the same. i'd get the 125 just to be different from your friend and to ride with him and compare the different engines.

  3. If money is not an issue go with a 250F. They are faster than a 125 but have more expensive repairs and more maintenance. A 125 is cheaper but not as fast. I ride a 125 because of money and I think 2 strokes are more fun to ride.

  4. i have a 2008 yz450f that i race and a 2008 yz 250f that i also race, the four strokes are so smooth and more easy to manage power wise. there power band is smoother then the 2 stroke which makes it easier to handle

    go for the 250f

  5. my dad has a 250 f 2001 is the year and it is way huge but he can still ride it. i recommend a 125 but if you think your tall inuf get the 250 f

  6. first off.... the 250 is barly any matinence at all... put the oil of your choice in, put some regular gas in and ride, the 125, the oil of your choice, then you have to mix your gas, and measure the oil to a ratio of how much oil to gas, then put it in and ride, the 125 has a pretty fast get up in speed, but the 250 is much faster, and smoother when you hit the power band... the 125 hits like a brick and is sometimes suprising, the 250 will kick in smoother and have a ton more power out of the corrners i have a 125 right now, and buying a hondA crf 250r this week, if your tall enough  and strong enough, because the 250 will be sugnificantly heavier, for sure go with the 250, good luck, have fun

  7. You should definatly get a 250f.

Not only are they faster, more durable, and easier to ride, 125's are being discontinued. You will get your @$$ handed to you in a race if you choose to ride a 125 against 250's. While they are getting use to their 4 strokes, you will be getting use to your 2-stroke. This will put them a year ahead in experience and you will have to re learn corners, straight aways, and jumping.

    GET THE 250F!
