I have a lot of trouble going to sleep at night, staying asleep and waking up.But the hardest thing is going to bed. I'm usually up from one to three in the morning every night. This has been happening for years and i want it to stop (really bad.) I'm thirteen (almost fourteen yay!) and since school is starting soon i don't want to be tired through all of my classes. i usually just wander around my house at night or sit on the floor and wish i was sleeping. (it gets REALLY boring!) Once i do fall asleep i wake up constantly throughout the night. Most of the time its because I'm dreaming or I'm uncomfortable or something like that. I have very vivid dreams and even though most of the time they don't make sense, I still wake up. In the mornings I'm too exhausted to even put my feet on the floor. it takes like twenty or thirty minutes for me to just get out of bed. i think some of these problems are stress related. my parents are recently divorced and i just changed schools and houses. there's a lot of stuff in my life that stresses me out (but i wont go into detail.) and there's always something on my mind. i'll worry about something for hours even if it isn't something worth worrying about (most of the time its at night). i also have ADD (not sure if that has anything to do with sleep, but i'll throw anything out there to get me an answer.)

if you have the same problems, how do you deal with them? how can i help myself to relax? how can i get on to a normal and healthy sleep schedule? is there a way i can control my dreams? (my aunt says there is and people study it and choose what they dream, but i dunno if its true) what is the best and most efficient way to wale up and get yourself started in the morning? (like splashing water on your face, jogging, eating, etc. etc.) if you ave any other tips that might help, please share! everything is greatly appreciated!!!

i know this is a lot of info and there's a lot of questions, but please take some time to help. my parents don't really care and i want to change my lifestyle now so i can have a happier future.

if you answered this, then you are really helping me and changing my life! (even if its a short answer) thank you for taking the time to read this and thanks for answering!!!

God bless you!

Peace/Love!

;)THANKS!!!

  1. it could be stress but if you are on medication for the ADD it could be that also. If you have trouble sleeping my cousin gives her son a cup of black coffee and it knocks him out. As for the trouble waking up I don't know I stay up until sometimes 3 or 4 am then wake up at 6 it is a matter of training yourself. Hope this helped a little anyway.

Hot tea Jasmine is a good relaxer and helps me sleep when I have trouble but my Dr. gave me muscle relaxers LOL

  2. If you could sleep at night, then you would not have the huge issue with waking up in the morning because you would be rested.  Benadryl is used in hospitals to help the patients go to sleep.  It is not habit forming (so I was told at the hospital).  I would try taking a Benadryl before bed and see if that helps you to sleep.  If not, you may need to see a Dr for something to calm your nerves until things settle down at home.

    Best Wishes!
