I cant find the area of this for some reason?

Usually i could solve this with no problem, but I'm sick, have a headache, so not thinking clearly...I'm trying to find the area of a parallelogram with these points...please help.

  1. to solve for a quadrilateral, you need length and width.  the distance between -1 and 4 is 5 units also between -4 and 1 is 5 units, so the width will be 5.  to find the length between the diagonal lines, we need to use the Pythagorean theorem.  3^2 + 5^2 = c^2, 9 + 25 = 34

    the square root of 34 is 5.8.  So the Area is 5 x 5.8 = 29 units squared
