  1. It looks like 2 stick placed horizontally.

  2. open up your PC and find out

  3. Go to Crucial.com where you can run a check on your computer and it will tell you what RAM you have installed, what your machine is capable of handling, and the type of RAM chips that you should install in your computer if you are planning to get some more RAM.... The site will also show you where the RAM sticks are located in your computer and will give you some tips on how to remove old sticks and put in the new ones... http://www.crucial.com is the web site...... I just used them a few weeks ago to get more RAM for my laptop and liked knowing the type that would work, the type I had and also those types that you should stay away from as they would cause problems.....

  4. If you want details on your memory, try this

    The Crucial System Scanner

    http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/

You may need to download/install some software but I've used it several times without any problems. It works great.

  5. Go to http://www.crucial.com

The web site will analyze your computer, tell you what you have and what you need.

  6. Ok your going to need to get in touch with your inner geek for this one. First depending on the operating system you are running (ie windows xp, vista...) you can right click on "My Computer" (or "Computer" if vista) and it will tell you the amount of ram you have and may and i stress may give you the type depending on the setup. If you really want to be sure you need to open the side panel of your case and have a look at the motherboard. Depending on the age of your PC it could be 3 types sdram (the oldest viable ram in use ) is easy to spot because it has 2 cutout slots on the chip , DDR (most common right now (although DDR2 is closing the gap fast)) only has one slot ,and DDR2 is usually easy to spot because it is oriented on a slant on most motherboards. If you do not feel comfotable opening your case then DON"T!!! you can always take it to a reputable shop and have a pro install it for you. If you just want to know you can also visit the manufacturers website and input your model number under support and look for the system specs. If you are unsure of how to do this send me the make and model and time permitting i'll look it up for you.

    Hope this helps you out.

    good luck!

  9. ya you can usually google your make and model of your computer and find the mother board specs to see what kind of ram your computer will take.

  10. For that, you need to download and install a survey program called http://belarc.com/

    holla at your boy!

  11. The control panel will only tell you how much ram there is (well at least it does on vista). When did you buy your computer? if you have bought it in the past few years, chances are your ram is DDR2. But if you really want to be sure, you're best bet would be to take your computer case off and check the type of ram your using.
