I have a 1995 mustang gt 5.0, it has cool air intake edelbrock (70mm) throttle body and manifold. I just put on a new idle air control, the car still idles erratic and there is loud winding sound within the engine compartment (its not the motor). the mass air flow sensor is lettered a, b, c, d, e and the air flow arrow points toward the air filter (which seems to be backwards), i need some help, the last thing i want to do is take it to the dealer for diagnostics.

  1. did you correctly adjust the throttle position sensor when you put it back on the new throttle body??I bet not.A lot of people over look this.To correctly adjust it you will need a volt meter. There needs to be a correct amount of voltage coming from the tps sensor when the vehicle is running.I dont have the exact specs on what the voltage is but it shouldnt be to hard to get.Ask the Ford dealer.Just look at the sensor.See how the screws that hold it to the throttle body are set up for a bit of adjustment?

  2. check your plugs and wires  they had a big impact on how the car will run there is a possibility you  a vacuum leak some where ,the arrow should be pointing the in direction of air flow

  3. check you Thottle position sensor.

or go to www.wickedstangs.com   sign up and put roushed2 sent you in the appropriate place.

ask them theres some built 5.0's on there that can help you alot more

  4. The pointing of the arrows sound right - the arrows indicate air flow direction
