  1. The prop has a rubber bushing in it that can let go. It may move a boat up to a certain speed and then start spinning without any increase in forward motion.

  2. sounds like cavitation, the word means sucking air into the propeller, question is there like white froth coming from the propeller when you go along,if so you need a bigger cavitation plate,

  3. not knowing any specs on the motor its a guessing game My first thing to look at is a shear pin in the lower unit.

  4. believe it or not check your plug wires to make certain they are in the proper firing order.

  5. Did you unhook the boat from the trailer or the trailer from the truck.Sorry, saw a thing on myth busters where they left the trailer on the boat in the water.

  6. Several things to check, first is the sheer pin in the prop housing, this is the most common problem and the cheapest to fix.

second is the fore aft balance of the boat, are you pushing through the water or planing? I'll bet it's the sheer pin.

  7. Sounds like a spun hub. The don't use shear pins in anything but trolling motors any more except for small motors. The hub is pressed in the prop and you'll never notice it in reverse because you can't get the load force required to make it slip as much. Try another prop or take it to a prop shop, for about 50 bucks you'll be all set
